Manheim Specialty Auction Spotlight: Bill ShenkLast summer, dealer trainer Bill Shenk agreed to purchase part ownership in Florida MotorSports, a multi-line dealership with stores in various Florida locations. The Dealer LAB entails Shenk implementing his tried and true 4 Ps of Profitability to pull a 180-degree turn to steer Florida MotorSports to success.

Manheim Specialty is a proud sponsor of this successful project, and, earlier this year, we invited Mr. Shenk to check out some of our Specialty auctions, knowing that our top-of-the-line inventory would be able to play a key role in his 4 Ps formula.

In October, Bill joined us for an in lane sale. Because he was new to the auction process, Manheim Specialty had auction aids on deck to answer his questions, offer assistance and make him feel comfortable. Bill’s experience at the in lane sale was so positive that he decided to participate in a second sale online in November.

With the help of Manheim Specialty and our convenient online applications, Bill used his iPad to purchase four units, two of which resulted in an average profit of $1,360! These units were purchased at less than NADA and Black Book value, and the two units sold so far were at a rate that was $75 higher per unit than average used bike sale price.

Manheim has more than 65 years of auction experience and is the industry leader in online remarketing solutions.  Trained staff and condition reports writers at Manheim Specialty auctions have become known for their accuracy, making it possible for buyers to purchase units online with confidence.  Following this trend, Manheim Specialty is partnering with M&T Bank to take its boat and RV sales to the next level.

A strong seller at both Manheim New York and Manheim Lakeland, M&T Bank sells its pre-owned inventory around the country to Manheim Specialty operating locations in order to take advantage of Manheim Specialty’s multiple selling platforms – including physical in-lane sales, Manheim Simulcast and Manheim’s Online Vehicle Exchange (OVE.com).

M&T Bank now hosts monthly online event sales the first weekend of every month. The sales include a collection of M&T Bank units from Manheim locations across the U.S., which will be available for preview beginning the first Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. EST. The open sale will begin the first Friday of each month at 9 a.m. EST and conclude the following Monday at 5 p.m. EST.

M&T Bank’s new monthly online event sale is just the latest example of the numerous sales channels and customized remarketing solutions Manheim Specialty offers its buyers and sellers.
